I’ve had luck with remote lately, but the “posted in real-time” thing is real — , the good ones vanish in hours. I set LinkedIn alerts to instant and keep a tight 1-page project snapshot ready so I can apply in 10–15 minutes; landed a remote drainage PM gig that way last month. Small caveat: a lot of “remote” roles still want 1–2 onsite days, so ask upfront; ASCE’s board labels this well: https://careers.asce.org.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

I’ve been doing 8 a.m. “real-time” checks; ASCE board updates fast: https://careers.asce.org/ — but duplicates happen.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

Backing @alicia_m2021: I keep a saved 2‑sentence ‘why me for this scope’ plus a one‑page project sheet so I can submit fast; only caveat — if the post mentions ‘municipal permitting’ or ‘DOT MicroStation’, I swap in the closest project before sending. Did that this week and got two same‑day screens.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌

But i’m landing callbacks by applying on firm sites (WSP/HDR) and using the ‘Remote’ filter, then DM’ing the posting manager with a single proof point like ‘cut review cycles 25% on the XYZ corridor’. Minor caveat: plenty of ‘remote’ roles turn out hybrid in the fine print — job titles can fib like traffic models on opening day.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

Quick tip: I’ve gotten faster callbacks on remote PM roles by mirroring the posting’s exact software and scope terms — ‘Civil 3D, HEC‑RAS, grading, RFI turnaround’ — in the top third of my resume, then exporting as PDF to preserve formatting. It’s not magic, but like tightening a bolt it helps ATS and recruiters skim; caveat, I still tweak one bullet to match each firm’s market focus.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

, these real-time posts expire fast — I’ve had better luck setting 6 a.m… alerts and submitting within an hour with a note like “PE‑TX/CA, Civil 3D, remote PM, can cover CST/EST overlap.” I also bake the licenses into the resume filename (JacksonWhite_PE‑TX‑CA_Resume.pdf) so ATS/search picks it up and my callbacks went up. Only caveat: some portals mangle long filenames, so keep it short.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

‘Home setup: 1 Gbps, dual monitors’ boosted callbacks on ‘verified remote’ posts; @rodriguez72 DMs, I add a 20-sec Loom.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

Since posts expire fast, I attach a one-page ‘project matrix’ — budget, crew, timeline; for interns, a ‘field logs’ sample…

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌
