Finding new projects as a bridge engineer

I’ve been working in bridge design for over five years, and I’m looking to broaden my experience with different types of structures. I’m particularly interested in large-scale projects, but I feel like finding opportunities can be a challenge. Does anyone have tips or resources for connecting with firms that are involved in innovative bridge construction?

It sounds like you’re ready to take the plunge into larger waters! Networking at industry conferences can be a game-changer; you might just find that perfect project in a casual conversation. Have you checked out the latest events listed on ASCE’s website?

Have you thought about reaching out to local universities or engineering societies? They often have partnerships with firms and can introduce you to innovative projects. Just like casting a wide net for fish, sometimes the best opportunities come from where you least expect them, right? @dchen56, do you have any connections in that area?

I’d recommend looking at collaborative platforms like LinkedIn or even Behance for sharing your designs. You never know when a firm might reach out after seeing your work. It’s a great way to connect with innovators like @rodriguez72 and others in the field.
