The soil's secret life

Ever wonder if soil has feelings — i spent an hour today explaining why the clay wasn’t given a chance to shine during our last foundation assessment. The looks on my team’s faces when I said, ‘Even soil has its limits!’ were priceless! Sometimes, in our serious field, it’s good to remember that the ground beneath our feet is just as temperamental as we are.

It’s funny, I once had a clay sample that refused to cooperate during testing. I told my team it was having a ‘bad hair day’ — sometimes, you just have to let it be and come back later! Even soil needs a break, I guess.

I once had a site where the soil felt like it was straight out of a drama — it wouldn’t stop shifting! I learned that sometimes, you have to take a step back and let it settle. Just like us, the ground needs its downtime. @SoilWhisperer once said, ‘Patience is key with unpredictable soil!’.
